PROVINCIAL CHAPTER III

SECOND DAY (24. 10.2007)

Reflecting on the “NEW FRONTIERS IN OUR MISSION TODAY”, we began the day by invoking God’s blessings upon us. The inaugural Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Jose Kuttiyanimattathil SDB, the Provincial of Bangalore and animated by the Community of the Sacred Heart Training Centre. The celebrant helped us to reflect more profoundly on the theme of our Chapter under three aspects:– Foreseeing love, accompanying love and the persuasive love.

“Effects of Globalization that calls us to new frontiers” was well dealt by Rev. Fr. George Thannickal SDB, who enlightened the chapter members with detailed statistics of the realities of the globalize world and the urgency to launch out as prophets of hope among the young people of today.
A power point presentation brief yet descriptive report of the growth of our province during the past six years was presented by Sr. Rosy Malayatty the Provincial .Sr. Mercy Ittoop the Provincial Economer presented the financial status of our province. The afternoon session began with Sr. Anna Thekkekandathil presenting a short report on CDEW’s life and work for the past six years. The day’s theme was deepened still more as we prayed the Rosary, animated by the Hassan Community.
Then the seven commissions with a moderator and two secretaries each were enthusiastically ready for work. A study of the first question from the working document, on “Why is the theme of GCXXII important for us today?” was made by each group.
The evening prayer animated by the community of Guntur invited us to pay heed to the voice of the Lord to be sent out to the new frontiers.
The day was concluded with the general discussion on the issues of the province.

THIRD DAY (25.10.07)

The presence of Mary was experienced right from the morning. The day’s theme–“Mary Masterpiece of God’s foreseeing love” was introduced by the community of Angamaly during the Morning Prayer. The atmosphere was pervaded with a Marian tone. Carrying fresh flowers to Mary and sharing our experiences with one another increased our love for Mary. In his homily Rev. Fr. Thomas Panakezham SDB spoke very vibrantly about the active presence of Mary in our Institute. The day’s programme was started with the prayer moments conducted by the Puthiyathura community helped us to enter into the school of Mary through a role play which showed the essential real fields of our apostolate. Rev. Fr. Thomas Panakezham SDB then gave us an over all glimpse into Mary’s life and how we should become Mary like in expressing the foreseeing love of God to all who come in contact with us.

The secretaries of the 7 commissions were very much enthusiastic to present their reports on the discussion on the first question. The community of Maradiyur animated the Rosary in which we contemplated the foreseeing love of God through Mary.

The sharing and the discussion on the 2nd question was done in the afternoon by each of the commissions.
During the evening prayer we reflected on the expressions of the foreseeing love of the Father in creation and the culmination of it in the creation of the Immaculate Virgin Mother. Thus the day was concluded with Mary.

Through the animated recreation the members revived their lost energy. There was a brief discussion on the New Frontiers, followed by goodnight.
